Mommy Cherish
More news on baby and I.
I was contacted by the pre-term birth prevention nurse today and found out that I have had a lot of the symptoms of pre-term labor. Apparently contractions aren't the only symptoms. Anyways, it doesn't appear that I will go into full blown labor real soon, but she is concerned about getting me to 37 weeks. So that is our goal. We will still be able to go to Albany for Ben and Brendel's wedding and visit family, but I have to stay off my feet as much as possible and try to keep the driving around to a minimum. (I guess driving can induce labor if your body is already preparing for it.) The symptoms the nurse described are actually some of the symptoms that I had with David (the baby we lost in April). So, for some reason my body doesn't want to be pregnant. It's weird though that everything was fine with Faith minus the diabetes. Oh, that's another thing to pray for. Diabetes puts women at a higher risk of delivering early. I don't have it right now, but I have a 86% chance of getting it with each pregnancy. It would be wonderful if this pregnancy was in the 14% that don't get it. I will keep you updated on anything new that happens. We really appreciate your prayers.
Doctor Appt For Me
So today I had one of my regular check ups. Baby's heart beat is good and as far as the ultrasound shows baby is fine. However, I told the doctor that over the last couple weeks I have had some really hard contractions. (I really did, I didn't just tell him that.) They felt like the ones you have when you're in hard labor. Since they were irregular and only lasted for about a half hour and the ultrasound looked well a few days before I thought 'well maybe their just Braxton Hicks and for some reason they're painful.' The doctor informed me that Braxton Hicks aren't that painful and if they don't get painful until closer to full term. So, he wanted to make sure that I wasn't dialated. I wasn't, but my cervix is soft. So good, no dialation, bad, soft cervix, because that is what happens before dialation. So now I'm on a pre-term labor prevention program. (Which I guess some specialty nurses will contact me and tell me more of what to look for and what to and not to do.) Right now I don't need to be on bed rest or anything crazy like that, but if the contractions continue to happen it could be a not so good thing. We would appreciate your prayers for no more contractions and for no pre-term labor and for a full term baby. (They're generally healthier and less apt to have complications in the future.) I also don't want to lose another baby. I believe the earliest gestation for survival is 24 weeks (still not good chances of survival). I'm only 21 weeks.
The Internet gets to stay...for now!!:)
Well, the internet gets to stay for awhile longer, hopefully indefinitely. I need the internet to be able to sell Home Interiors and Noah needs it time to time because his computer at work won't always let him send emails or messages or something of the sort, and he needs to do it at home. So we cut some other things out and we'll see if it all works, on paper it looks good, but as most of you know, unexpected expenses come up more often than we would like. So I've been able to feel the baby moving with my hand now. Noah has gotten to feel it a couple times now. I don't think Faith would be patient enough to feel the baby and it probably wouldn't be hard enough for her to know someone just kicked(or punched) her. She does call the baby now "Tiny Baby". Potty training with Faith goes back and forth. It's hard to be consistent when we go visit family in Albany because there is a lot of excitement for her and I don't usually let her run around pantless when we're not home. She is however, telling me when she has to go poo-poo, before she goes. (Even with her diaper on.) She gets very imbarassed when she goes in public. She will even cry. The potty part though needs more work. If she doesn't have a diaper on, she will tell me before she goes, but if her diaper is on, she tells me after she is done. She is young so I'm not going to push her, but it sure would be nice if she decided to be potty trained within the next four months. (Then we have only one baby in diapers.)
Sorry:(
Sorry to all of you who read my blog to stay up on our lives, but we are going to have to drop our internet. We need to cut some expenses and this is one thing we don't need to live. I can still get to Noah's computer at the office now and again, but the updates won't be as often. Sorry:( We were told that living expenses here were cheaper, but I think they were referring to Portland's living expenses, because so far utilities have cost us more than $100 each month than it did when we lived in Albany. So, we would like to have water and electricity before the internet. We'll probably have the internet for another week or so, after that the blogs will be scarce.
